Garlic Basil Chevre — Fresh Goat Cheese Log (Yoder Family Farms)
$5.97 · 4 oz log · From Yoder Family Farms, Trinidad CO
Fresh goat chevre with garlic and basil. Sharp and savory, with enough garlic presence to actually taste it. This is the one you reach for when you want cheese that does something on the plate.
Crumble it warm over pasta and it melts into the dish. Spread it cold and it holds its flavor straight. Either way it earns its place.
Good for: crumbling over pasta or flatbread, spreading on toast, folding into scrambled eggs, a savory cheese board, pairing with roasted tomatoes or fresh basil from the Hub.
Keep refrigerated. Best within two weeks. Raw milk cheese.
ABOUT YODER FAMILY FARMS
Yoder Family Farms is in Trinidad, Colorado, about two hours south of here. They raise their own dairy goats and grow the feed for their animals on the same land. The recipe they use is Italian, inherited from Philpott Goat Dairy, where it was refined over 36 years. Yoder is one of two farms in Colorado grandfathered to sell fresh cheese made from raw goat milk. That's not a marketing claim. It's a legal status that almost no one else can make.
