Peppery, sharp, the green that finally tastes like something. Grown young so the bite is bright, not bitter.
I grow this one because grocery-store arugula is either old or watered down. Mine is cut at the leaf stage, where the flavor is strongest. Good on its own, better under a fried egg or torn into a warm pasta.
A 1/3 lb bag covers two big dinner salads, or three nights of pizza toppings.
I cut these on Friday. Dry leaves in the fridge will hold for [10-14 days], if it lasts that long. Grocery store arugula is usually two weeks old before it ever hits your cart.
